The Professional Standards for BC Educators put forward the skills and ethical conduct that is expected of teacher, to create a safe effective learning environment. When reflecting on the Professional Standards for BC Educators, many things come to mind. My classroom will be their home away from home and it is my responsibility to insure and inclusive and supportive environment, so every child belongs and is ready to learn. It is very important to always act in the child’s best interest to ensure integrity to support growth and development. Teaching is no easy task, but there are several other professionals out there to help my professional learning. This is especially true when searching for authentic Indigenous resources to aide me in my journey to educate and support reconciliation.
