My key take aways from Indigenous Epistemologies were that every situation provides an opportunity for learning and the sacred views of nature are the foundation of teaching and learning. My upbringing was very colonial and sheltered: I just did not see diversity. This reading helped me to come further out of my shell of the “perfect stranger” (Dion, 2014), into becoming anti-racist.
